Spring Break

Last week was the girls Spring Break, so we sent them off to Mimi and Papa’s for a few days. They had a great time, and apparently they were just wonderful for my mom. Now, I’m not saying that I have bad kids, but they will give us a hard time when putting them down for bed and they can be pretty whiny at times. So, why is it that when they go the grandparents house they turn into these perfect angels??? The only explanation I can think of is that God knows that we need the break from time to time so they act on their best behavior so the grandparents will keep offering to take them when we need it!!! I’m not complaining, I just think its kind of crazy how different they can act depending on who is watching them.

Anyway, I met my mom a week from this past Sunday and then met her again on Wednesday night. It was a nice little break for us, but we sure were ready for the girls to come home.

Stuart and I took the girls up to the park for a McDonald’s picnic and to play for a little bit before I met my mom.

A couple of pictures of Taylor...

While we were up there we ran into my sister and her family, so I got some cute pictures of her kiddo's...

When I got back to the house on Sunday afternoon, Stuart and I started one of the many projects that is on our “to do list.” We moved into our house about 2.5 years ago with two little ones that were just learning to walk, so our “fixer upper” is a work in progress.

When we moved into our house it had industrial 80’s iron surrounding the stairs, loft and platform. We were really worried that Molly and Taylor would be able to squeeze through the gap’s between the iron, so we took out the iron and built in a half wall around the platform and loft area. We have wanted to paint the rust/mauve iron that goes up the stairs black, so with the girls away we had our chance.

This picture is from when we first moved into the house. Excuse the Toilet paper-roll sitting on the stairs.

And here are the after pictures.

We still need to do a little touching up, but I am really happy with how it turned out.

Thanks Mom for watching the girls for us so we could get this project finished.

I hope everyone had a safe Spring Break!

The Green Goblin!

I bought Molly and Taylor some Saint Patrick’s Day pajamas on sale the other day. They only had one set of girl pajamas left, so I picked up a pair of the boy pajamas and thought that we could just mix and match the sets. I really didn’t think the girls would notice, but as soon as we started to put them on they were fighting over the pink top. Taylor ended up with the pink top and Molly was pretty upset. She was whining that she didn’t want to wear the “boy” top. Stuart jumped in to try to talk her into putting it on and she told him that she didn’t want to wear the Green Goblin top. Stuart and I started to laugh and explained to her that it was a leprecon on the top and not a green goblin.

My Irish Beauties!!!

They learned about goblins on one of their favorite shows "Little Bear" just incase you were wondering where this came from!!!

After they got into their new pajamas, they were doing a leprecon dance and singing the lollipop kids song from The Wizard of OZ…so funny. I got a video of Taylor performing and decided to try and post it. The best part of the night was their reaction to the video. They were laughing so hard at themselves, and wanted to watch it over and over.

A Shoe Mission…

Molly and Taylor have school pictures today, and I just could not decide what to put them in. The weather has been beautiful all week and of course today is going to be cool and rainy. When trying to decide what to put them in, I realized that they don’t have very many spring/summer clothes, and I defiantly do not have shoes to go with the any of the outfits that they do have. So, this little predicament calls for a trip to the Promenade (Our local mall)!

I was on a mission for white sandals. We headed to Stride Rite because they are having a buy one get one ½ off sale. When we got to the store I had the (not so nice) sales person measure there feet and found out that the girls were wearing a size too small. They are in a size 10 shoe…I can’t believe it, they have the biggest feet!!! It’s so hard to just pick one pair of shoes when you go into this store. They have the cutest selection of kid’s shoes. We picked out a couple pair of white sandal’s and started to run into a problem. They did not have two pair of size 10 sandals in stock. We did however end up with a cute pair of Ked’s because I just could not make them walk out of that store wearing shoes that were too small. We stopped into a few more stores on the way to the food court without any luck.

We got to ride on the carousel that they put in up at the Promenade and the girls just loved it! I stood in between their horses and they just talked about their horses names and colors and people watched the whole time we were on the carousel. Taylor looked at me and said, “I like riding the carousel mommy,” and Molly looked at me all excited and said, “Thank you mommy.” They are so sweet, and I love that they are at the age where they really appreciate little outings like this.

We stopped in and split a foot long at subway, and then made our way to Payless and JC Penny’s. Payless had ONE pair of size 10 white sandals. I pulled FIVE pair of white sandals at JC Penny’s and they only hand ONE in a size 10, so we gave up and went home.

I do realize that they could just wear different sandals, but I don't want to deal with the drama that this could evolve into!

The girls ended up wearing pink sun dresses with their new Ked’s for picture day…I’m sure that looked cute! Daddy was in charge of getting them ready, so I guess I should be more concerned about what their hair looks like rather than their feet!!! Hahaha…we will see!!!

It was a perfect evening with my little girls. I did not have my camera with me, but here is a picture of their new shoes!!!

Bloggers Block...

I just have not felt it lately. I don’t feel like taking pictures or blogging about anything. I have been reading and catching up on everyone else, but have not been sharing. I guess I don’t feel like I have anything really exciting to share.

I am looking forward to the weekend. I have a date with my husband tonight!!! The girls are staying the night at Janet’s house. Janet is a family friend that loves to keep the girls any chance she can get.

I don’t know what we are going to do, but I am looking forward to whatever it is!

Tomorrow we are headed south for a visit with my parents. I have a Wedding shower to attend for one of my good friends, and we are planning on hanging around to have dinner with my parents.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Chucky Cheese

Last Sunday I took the girls to Chucky Cheese. We met Stuart’s sister Aimee and her little boy Reggie there. I’m not a fan of Chucky Cheese, but I remember how much I loved it when I was little. Back then it was called Showbiz Pizza. It is so different now, they don’t have the characters playing in a band on stage anymore…it’s just Chucky and some movies on flat screens putting on the show. They don’t have the disgusting germ pits…I mean ball pits anymore. They have a tunnel that the kids can crawl through with a slide. They do however still have the same unappetizing pizzas!

We started out with the kids playing on the little rides and in the tunnel while we waited for our pizza. They told us our pizza should be out in 10 minutes when we first walked in, so after 45 minutes and still no pizza I went to see what was going on. I had not eaten all day, and the girls only had a pop tart for breakfast (It was almost 2 o’clock by now). Stuart’s sister is pregnant, and I believe she started to have that I NEED TO EAT feeling. I talked to the manager the second time I went up to the counter (1 hour later) to ask for a full refund, they were really nice and refunded the money and had our pizza out in “10 minutes.” At this point we had already used up the coins for the kids, and were ready to sit down and eat. So, it turned out to be a free afternoon…which was nice. Also, I was so hungry at this point that the pizza did not taste all that bad!

The kids of course had a wonderful time, which makes trips like this worth it!

Party Girls!!!

Molly and Taylor are getting to that age where they get invitations to someones party, what seems like every other weekend. I think that they get more invitations for get-togethers than we do…when did this start to happen?
The past few months have been busy birthday months, and I realized while going through pictures that I did not do an entry for any of these birthdays. So, here are some pictures of a few Birthday parties we have been too in the past month or two that I’m just now getting around to posting.

January we went to a Birthday party at the Jump Zone for a little boy from their school...we love this place!

She is graceful like her mommy, the main reason I didn't put my own pictures on here!!!

Stuart with his girls...Woohoo!!!
This is now what comes out of the girls mouth when they get excited...
Can I get a Woohoo everyone???

The next weekend we headed over to my friends little girl Cadeys 2nd birthday party.

This was a party that included a lot of our friends, so it was fun to get to see everyone while celebrating with Elmo cake and juice boxes!

I love the look on her face it this picture...

And then off to a Skate Party...

A few weeks later we were invited to another birthday party for a friend from their school that was held at the local skating rink. Did you know that they now rent out the skating rink for private birthday parties during certain hours? It was great being there with just the birthday party group because we did not have to worry about bigger kids pushing our little ones around!

Taylor was a little intimated at first...

Molly took to it a little easier...I love this picture. It looks like she saying, "Come on Taylor, skate with me already!"

A little help from dad...

A little help from mom...

They picked it up pretty fast...

How low can you go???

My hero of a husband...Thank you Stuart for making it to all of these B-day parties with me!!!

Thanks to all of you who have invited us to your children's b-day parties. We will always try to make it, because as you can see my girls just love to party!
