Another Busy Weekend...

Last weekend we went to Stuart’s step sisters wedding. The girls were so excided for this weekend to come because they thought they were the one’s getting married. They asked me everyday if they could put on their wedding dress. They even fought about who was going to marry our friends little boys Austin and Shepherd. They are already fighting over boys….we are in for it!!!

Friday night we went to the rehearsal and they kept asking when it was their turn to walk down the isle to get married (they were the flower girls). After a few practice runs with how the wedding was going to go, they finally started to get that Kelsey was the one getting married and they were ok with just being the flower girls.

I was so impressed with how well they did. They walked down the isle arm in arm with the ring barrier, and stood on the alter during the whole ceremony without drawing too much attention to themselves. They forgot to throw flowers on the way up the isle, so they started to toss them at one another during the ceremony, it was cute and I don’t think many people noticed.

They posed with the bride and bridesmaids…

We snuggled up while waiting for the cake to be cut…

They danced with prince daddy…

After a hectic day, we had a really nice time at the wedding and enjoyed getting to spend some time with the family.

April Weekends...Busy, Busy, Busy!

First of all, don’t ask me how I did it or what happened, but I got my comment button working again. I’m so glad, It was really bothering me. Sarah, thanks for the leaving the sweet comment Facebook!

We have something going every single weekend for the month of April…which means….plenty to blog about :o).

The weekend of the 4th we drove down to my parent’s house because my little brother Mark and his girlfriend Sarah were in town from Utah. Mark is getting ready to go back for his second wild fire season, so we won’t see him again until the Holiday’s. We had a great Saturday…the weather was perfect. We spent the entire day hanging out in my parent’s back yard. The girls love to play in their backyard because there are so many neat things to explore. They climbed a tree, got on the swing, relaxed in the hammock, and pretended to fish in the pond.

I love this picture...look at how scared Molly is. Taylor is such my dare devil and went first and Molly just had to try it because her sister did. She did it and then came right back down. I think she was quite proud of herself! I promise they are not very high off the groud, and I am standing right there to catch them just in case!!!

My dad was grilling his, “Award Winning Ribs” all afternoon…they were GREAT! The girls went over to help. They were so cute standing right by him holding things for him, and asking him questions about what he was doing.

Papa and my little spy's!!!
I really sent them over to steal all of his “Top Secrete Tips,” on how he fixes up those delicious ribs!

Later that night, we headed out to see Copesetic. The lead singer of this band Mike Huff is one of my brothers good friends, so my brother always try’s to make it out to see them play when he is in town. They are really good, and if you ever get the opportunity to see them play, you should jump on it. They are actually going to play at Wakarusa in Mulberry, AR. this summer.

Mark and Sarah...

Me and Stuart...

The weekend of the 11th was of course, Easter Weekend. Saturday was another beautiful day! Stuart took advantage of the weather to hit the yard for the first time this spring. It really needed some TLC and looks so much better. While the Husband was hard at work in the yard (Thank You Stuart) the girls and I dyed Easter eggs inside the house. I tried to lay them down for a little nap after we finished up with the eggs, but was unsuccessful.

Molly and Taylor were cracking up at each other in these bunny faces that they made at school.

Later that afternoon we met Stuart’s sister and her family downtown for an Easter Egg Hunt. I think it was a great thing that this business put on this event, but I have to tell you it turned out to be such a disappointment for my little girls.

First of all, we made sure that we were there 30 minutes early so that we could sign up for the hunt. They had everyone wait in this room while they were out hiding the eggs. They came into announce that they were going to separate the kids into two different age groups, and then told everyone not to get more than 12 eggs because they wanted to make sure that everyone had a chance to get some. I was thinking…Wow, 12 eggs per child is a lot! This is going to be great!

We go outside and the kids are lined up ready to go. They yell GO and the kids are OFF. I followed Molly and Taylor while they tried to get some eggs…after a minute or two Taylor finally got one. She got so excited that she shook it and the candy went flying everywhere. I told them, “come on let’s keep looking for more eggs.” It didn’t even take us 5 minutes to make a trip around the fountain when we looked around and realized that ALL of the eggs were GONE. Taylor had a total of 1 “empty” egg, and Molly had NONE. My nephew ended up with 3, but only because a little girl gave them to him. This woman had a bag full of eggs and gave the girls a couple of pity eggs. I was a little disappointed, but the girls were just happy to get some candy. We went to the park and enjoyed the rest of the beautiful afternoon!
Tattom, Reggie, Taylor, and Molly after the Hunt!

When I was growing up, the Easter Bunny would always leave little clusters of M&M’s and Whoppers on the tables and ledges of furniture, really anywhere that had a hard surface. He would also leave candy in our “Easter shoes.” We would walk around the house with little bowls collecting the candy. Stuart and I set out Easter Candy around the house after the girls went to bed on Saturday night. We also put plastic eggs filled with candy inside in their shoes. I was so excited to see their reaction to this Easter business!!!

Sunday morning I heard those little munchkin voices upstairs talking about how there are eggs in their shoes, I then heard them making their way downstairs and one of them saying, “THE EASTER BUNNY CAME!!!” I came out of my room and they looked at me and shouted, “THE EASTER BUNNY CAME!” It was so cute! They started shoving that candy into their mouths as fast as they could. I got them each a cereal bowl to collect the candy, and when they were finished they put the bowls on the kitchen table and got up the their chairs like they were going to sit down and eat a bowl of M&M’s for breakfast. Mean mommy jumped in and said they could have one more handful and then I would fix a real breakfast for them. While cooking they went through their Easter Baskets. They were really excited about their Disney Princess and Dora nightgowns, little Kelly Barbie dolls, books, hairclips and kites that the Easter Bunny brought for them.

We got ready for church and headed out into cold rainy weather. After church we drove to my parent’s house. We had an Easter egg hunt in the living room for the kids, looked for Easter baskets from Mimi and Papa, and had a great time visiting and eating delicious food. Molly and Taylor each got a Barbie, a cute spring outfit, some candy and a Dora Whistle (or as Molly says, “A Wizzle.”) bubble blower. Stuart and I got a beautiful spring planter with a cute bunny stake.

I didn’t get very many pictures Easter morning because I decided to get out the video camera, which died after about 2 minutes into filming all of this excitement. Then I guess I was just lazy about picking up the camera to get some pics…oh well!

Molly and Taylor at 3.5 years old…

Molly and Taylor are now 3.5 years old, so I thought I would do a little list of some of the things that are doing right now...
  • Taylor refers to everything from her past with, “Remember last year, I ….” It actually sounds more like, “Remember yast year, I …..” We had pancakes for breakfast yesterday morning, and I’m sure the next time we eat them she will say, “Mommy, remember yast year when we had pancakes.”
  • The story telling/lying/blame game has started. They will come down and tell me how they cleaned their playroom just to see my excitement and praise, and when I go to check it I see that nothing has been picked up.
  • If I tell them no, they come back with, but daddy said I could and vise versa.
  • They play house with their dolls. They get pretty emotional and intense while playing and acting out scenarios. They will often whine “Mommy” or “Sister”, when I respond they explain that they don’t need me, their doll is the one that is talking.
  • They try to talk over each other…which can get really LOUD. We are working on taking turns and listening when talking to mommy or each other.
  • They still say Biper rather than Diaper. They still wear a diaper or pull-up to bed, but are becoming very aware that it is a big deal when they wake up dry.
  • They love to dress up. I have to make sure that I hang up their clothes as soon as I get them out of the laundry or they will go through everything and try it on.
  • They love to wear dresses.
  • They dance and sing all the time. They memorize songs from their movies and sing them over and over. When Stuart or I jump into song, they tell us to stop. Am I really that bad???
  • They know that they get to sleep in Mommy and Daddy’s room when it is storming or if Daddy is out of town. They don’t even want to sleep in the bed; they will insist that we make a pallet for them on the floor.
  • Whenever a commercial comes on with advertisements or they are watching a movie with different characters I will often hear, “I want to be the pink one.” “I want to be the brown one.” “What one do you want to be mommy?”

Short Story and this past weekend!

On Friday night I decided that I would post about Stuart’s 32nd birthday and ended up messing up my whole blog. I don’t know what I did, but it disappeared for a few days. I ended up deleting that last post and it looks like we are back to normal except for the fact that I can’t view comments. I don’t have comments blocked, so I don’t know what’s going on with it. I’m tired of messing with it for now, so I’m giving up at this point.

This weekend we went to visit my parents because my little brother Mark and his girlfriend were in town. We had a great time and I will post more about the weekend later.

Now here is a little story…

The other day Taylor started to throw a fit in the car with big tears and loud cries.

Have I mentioned that my girls can be little drama queens?

I try to ignore them when they start a meaningless temper tantrum like this. However; in this case Molly felt the need to tell me that Taylor is crying, I guess she didn’t think I could hear the screaming coming from the back seat of the car. Molly then went on to tell me that we needed to tell Taylor that we love her. So now I hear Taylor crying and Molly starting in with, “Taylor we love you.”

This technique did not work. It actually had the reverse affect. I think this is the start of sibling love turned to how we can antagonize one another.

Taylor: Crying
Molly: “Taylor we love you.”
Taylor: Crying gets louder
Molly: “Taylor we love you.”
Taylor: Grunt. Crying. Screams “Stop talking at me.”
Molly: Starts Crying. “Mommy, Taylor is fighting at me.”

End result: Both girls crying! DRAMA

This is so Crazy...

My dad sent me this email this afternoon and I just had to post about it...it's so crazy! The story is going to be on Good Morning America tomorrow morning.

Last night was perfect for working in the yard. I decided to do some more planting around the new water fall area, and while digging around the big oak tree I found this thing!

Looks like some sort of a mummified body with wings. Scared the hell out of both me and the dog. Anyway, it had kind of a creepy human look to it, so I called the police and tried to explain what I found.

They sent an officer out and when he saw it, he didn't know what to make of it, so he called the coroner's office on his radio. After the call went out, we ended up with three police cars, a homocide detective, some guy from the coroner's office and on top of it all - a fire truck - all with red lights flashing and all of them trying to park in the driveway and down the street. Damndest thing you ever saw!
The coroner bagged the thing up and asked me if I wanted a receipt. I told them that if they decided I could ever have it back, I'm going to have Bryan have it mounted so we can hang it up on the family room wall with Mark's duck.

APRIL FOOLS DAY!!!
