We headed to Kansas City over the weekend for a wedding reception for one of my cousins. We got to visit with lots of family from both my mom and dad’s side. Stuart and I headed up with the girls on Friday night and went straight to my Aunt Karen and Uncle Bills place for burgers and beer. We had a wonderful time visiting with them and the girls just LOVE playing at their very kid friendly house. The have the best toys and a great playhouse in their backyard.

Saturday we headed over to Halls Crown Center to check out a Lego exhibit and then headed over to Kaleidoscope. Kaleidoscope is an art center that provides supplies and recycled materials for children to use their imaginations to create their own art. The girls made a crown and necklace, a puzzle, and father’s day cards. If you are ever in the Kansas City area this is a fun thing to take your kids to do, and best of all it is FREE!

After Kaleidoscope I took Molly to use the restroom at the mall. I was on the phone with my sister in law while helping Molly out in the bathroom stall, when all of a sudden my blackberry jumped out of my hands and landed straight in the toilet. I thought for a second about grabbing it, when all of a sudden the toilet sensor went off and my phone was flushed! I can’t believe that it was powerful enough to flush a phone! Anyway I am now without a phone, and it sucks. I lost all of my numbers and have no way to communicate with anyone…I am currently using a tracfone that I borrowed from a friend until I get a replacement phone.
Saturday night we went to the wedding reception and got to see a lot of family from the Thorne side. It was so nice to see everyone, and all of the little kids had such a good time out on the dance floor. I wish that I had a video to share with you of my 3 year old nephew breaking out his dance moves and lip singing…so funny!
Sunday we headed back over to the Tholen’s for brunch and then ventured back to NWA. We went straight over to Stuart’s dad’s place to bbq and swim. Taylor got pretty comfortable in the water with that lifejacket on and was excited to kick around in the pool. Molly is still a little timid and mostly hangs out on the steps.

I wish that I had pictures from the wedding, but I will have to get some pics from my mom and put them on here a little later….
What a fun summer weekend!

Oh my god, Melissa, I cannot tell you how hard I was laughing just now picturing your phone being flushed!!! I know it is not funny, but it totally sounds like something that would happen to me. Good luck getting a new one!!
